Terms of Service

Last updated: 5 June 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account, logging in, operating a hotspot, or using our captive portal as an end user, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

2. Our service

WiFi Business Online provides software for hotspot operators in Tanzania to sell internet access, manage MikroTik routers, run captive portal login pages, issue vouchers, and accept mobile-money payments.

We are a technology provider. Unless expressly stated in a separate written agreement, we are not your internet service provider, payment institution, or telecommunications licensee.

3. Who may use the platform

  • Business owners and operators must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter contracts in Tanzania.
  • Operators are responsible for obtaining any licences, registrations, or TCRA-related approvals required for their WiFi business.
  • End users connecting through a hotspot agree to the operator’s fair-use rules and applicable Tanzanian law.

4. Accounts and security

You must provide accurate registration details and keep your login credentials confidential. OTP codes sent to your email are for your use only.

You are responsible for activity under your account and for actions taken by operators you invite to your business.

5. Payments and mobile money

Payments may be processed through third-party gateways (for example Zenopay, Snippe, or Selcom) and Tanzanian mobile-money channels such as M-Pesa, Airtel Money, Tigo Pesa, or Halopesa, depending on your operator’s configuration.

Prices, packages, refunds, and customer support for hotspot purchases are set by the hotspot operator unless we state otherwise. Payment disputes about service quality should first be raised with the operator.

6. Acceptable use

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe these rules have been violated or if required by law or a regulator.

  • No illegal content, fraud, unauthorised access, or interference with routers, RADIUS, or billing systems.
  • No harassment, abuse, or distribution of malware through hotspot networks managed on the platform.
  • No attempt to bypass session limits, voucher rules, or payment controls.
  • Operators must publish clear pricing and connection terms to end users at the captive portal.

7. Service availability

We aim for reliable uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, network outages, router failures, power cuts, or third-party payment downtime may affect connectivity or billing.

Features may change as we improve the product. Material changes to these terms will be posted on this page.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Tanzanian law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from hotspot use, lost revenue, or third-party payment delays.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the platform is limited to the fees you paid us for the service in the three (3) months before the claim, except where liability cannot be limited by law.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Courts in Tanzania shall have jurisdiction unless mandatory consumer protections require otherwise.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 June 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal data when you use WiFi Business Online in Tanzania.

We process data in line with applicable Tanzanian law, including the Personal Data Protection Act, 2022, and good practice guidance from relevant authorities.

2. Roles: platform vs hotspot operator

For business dashboard accounts, we act as a data controller for account and billing configuration data.

For end users connecting at a hotspot, your operator is usually the primary controller of connection and payment data; we process that data on their behalf to provide authentication, RADIUS, vouchers, and payment status.

3. Data we collect

  • Account data: name, username, email, phone number, business name, role, and operator permissions.
  • Hotspot session data: MAC address, device identifiers, session duration, data usage, and router location metadata.
  • Payment data: mobile number used for checkout, payment reference, amount, package selected, and transaction status from payment partners.
  • Technical logs: IP addresses, API requests, security events, and error logs for fraud prevention and reliability.
  • Communications: OTP emails, optional SMS messages, and support correspondence.

4. How we use data

  • Authenticate administrators, operators, and developers.
  • Provide internet access packages, vouchers, and captive portal login.
  • Process and confirm mobile-money payments.
  • Monitor network usage, analytics, and service quality.
  • Secure the platform, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

5. Sharing with third parties

We share data only when necessary to run the service:

  • Payment processors and mobile-money gateways to complete transactions.
  • SMS or email providers to deliver OTPs, vouchers, or notifications configured by the operator.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers that store and process data under contract.
  • Regulators, courts, or law enforcement when required by Tanzanian law.

6. Retention

We keep account and transaction records for as long as your business relationship continues and for a reasonable period afterward for accounting, disputes, and legal compliance.

Session and hotspot logs may be retained according to your operator’s settings and operational needs. Anonymised analytics may be kept longer.

7. Security

We use technical and organisational measures such as encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls, rate limiting, and audit logging. No online system is completely secure; please report suspected incidents promptly.

8. Your rights in Tanzania

Subject to the Personal Data Protection Act, 2022, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or object to certain processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Commission.

Hotspot end users should contact the hotspot operator first; business users may contact us at support@wifibusiness.online.

9. Cookies and similar technologies

The dashboard uses session cookies (including HttpOnly authentication cookies) to keep you signed in. The captive portal may use cookies or session tokens to remember your connection state on a router. You can control browser cookies through your device settings.

10. Children

The business platform is not directed at children under 18. Hotspot operators are responsible for any age-related rules for their own customers.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of each section will change when we do. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised policy.
